Astro Club is one of Discovery Dome's most popular school based programmes. It is Hong Kong's only after school science astronomy club for English speaking students that uses a portable mobile planetarium and is developed especially for primary age children. We are excited to be bringing the opportunity to experience this programme to Bradbury School students from January 2018. Our fun and dynamic extra curricular Astro Club is open to all children in Years 1,2,3,4,5,6. We will be offering an eight-week course on Friday's after school in the summer term. The cost is $2240. Registration is possible using the form below. Registration is not complete until payment is received. Payment can be made via PAYPAL using the link. Spaces will be limited and we will operate on a first come first served basis. The course is also open to non Bradbury children. In each session there are star shows and movies usually only experienced in large fixed planetariums as well as exciting hands on STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths). Every session features time inside our inflatable mobile planetarium Discovery Dome. We write an extensive curriculum that changes termly - many of our students return again and again, so we always vary our activities. We are delighted that this year Astro Club will be led by Lorne Ali who recently left Kellett School, after 15 years of teaching there, to head up Discovery Dome's primary years teaching programmes. He brings his depth of knowledge and awareness of this age group to the sessions. Each session is also supported by a team of assistants. We aim to create a stimulating environment that engages children in learning about space, helps to build their confidence, awakens their curiosity and develops their love of learning. |
